sketchtour: Sebakis

This is my third assignment at PT Duta Tambang Rekayasa, a coal mine on Sebakis site of Nunukan. a very remote area from Nunukan island/Nunukan city. Very quiet place...sometimes heavy vehicle pass by our clinic:) breaking the silence of the jungle.
3 times and less boring place since in the first 3 days of the assignment help me to calm my mind. Arrangging brand new program of public relation (for hospital) and managing fresh ideas. But, after that....here comes mr. boring :))

4 days in Tarakan, east borneo, Indonesia

 my job, once again takes me to a trip to Tarakan, this time i go with a group of leadership training to be their health supervisor. The event was take place in Hotel Monaco and several places in Tarakan. From Nunukan we went by a speedboat about 2,5 hrs to Tarakan, then we stay there for 4 days.

 Sketching on a speeding boat is a challenge since the vibration and the minimum level of comfort. But the advantage is the objects are relatively steady so we can explore more from what we see. It definitely helps to sketch better.

 In the hotel many interesting objects to be explored.  Activities in the dining room and the interiors,  challenge sketchers ability to stretch lines as staight as possible. The practice in drawing a line really handy in this situation.

 Before we go for academical observation we are welcomed by mayor that represented by his vice-mayor, followed a speech by officer from Nunukan that leads us to field observation in Tarakan.

it was a very long hours of meeting, but fortunately the chairman of province health division of east Borneo is very welcome to us, gives me refreshing thought about how to deal with many people in pleasant way_
for four days we stayed in Mesra Hotel, so many delicious food surrounded by good view. Unfortunately since the material is so many to learn, the time for sketching is not much. when the meeting is end i'm too tired to sketch. But anyway here's the sketch report.

Beberapa waktu lalu di bulan Desember 2010 BKDD kabupaten Nunukan mengadakan sosialisasi jabatan fungsional di aula kantornya. Ini bakal membosankan jika tidak disiasati. namun kebosanan itu harus dibunuh agar tidak mengganggu masuknya materi. ini penting mengingat apa yang dibawakan menyangkut masa depan pribadi:D
Satu-satunya cara yang masuk akal buat saya adalah mensketsa sambil mencatat apa yang penting..

several weeks ago in December 2010 human resources office of Nunukan invite me to attend a meeting presentation about functional position in their meeting room. It's gonna be a long..long...long.....long....... boring day (i thought) for me who doesn't like to stay in a room for long period. But this had to be overcome since the material of the presentation is important for my future.
So, the only way to make all these become more fun is to combine with sketching activities
